50TH REUNION FESTIVITIES

September 6 & 7, 2019

Flashback time! Remember any of the neato '60's slang below?

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

HAPPY HOUR AT RITTER'S!

(mezzanine reserved for us)

4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

No cover charge

102 Liberty St NE Suite 100

In Salem's downtown core at the corner of Liberty & State

Gimme some skin, man! Lots of handshakes will be shared as class of '69 classmates and non-classmates gather for Happy Hour.

It will be fab to casually hang out together and shoot the breeze at Ritter's, a popular hotspot with drinks and delicious healthy food.

We have reserved Ritter's mezzanine which allows a max of 34 people at any one time, but we can overflow to their very nice large, open restaurant and bar on the main floor. If that restaurant is packed, we can beat feet next door to Archive Coffee and Bar, 102 Liberty St NE Suite 120. They also serve bodacious food and cocktails.

Although Ritter's mezzanine is reserved for us with no rental fee, we do need to spend at least $350 for drinks and food. As this is a no-host gathering you will be responsible for your own food and drink.

After Happy Hour, who knows where the evening may take us? Maybe cruise the gut in an Uber car?

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

RAD REUNION PARTY!

5:00 - 10:00 p.m.

$50 - $55 per person

SALEM CONVENTION CENTER

"Santiam Room"

200 Commercial St SE

What's up? A far out party, that's what! Can you dig it? Whether you're a classmate or not, come hang loose with the class of '69 as we catch up about our lives over the last 50 years. As the awesome Rolling Stones said in their hit song, "Jumpin' Jack Flash," it will be a gas, gas, gas!

What's included? An outta sight party of 1969 classmates, a beautiful downtown venue with plenty of parking, yummy heavy appetizers and a no-host bar.

Reservations are $50 per person until midnight August 7 and $55 thereafter. Reserve on-line with a credit card or send a check. After August 7 send a check in the amount of $55 per person to arrive by September 1 or pay at the door by check or cash. NOTE: Registrant's names will appear on the class web site and on a list at the event check-in table.

It will be a bummer if you don't show up!

LODGING DISCOUNT

Right on! The Grand Hotel in Salem is offering a limited number of rooms at a discounted rate on September 6, 7 and 8. The hotel's address is 201 Liberty St SE and adjoins the Salem Convention Center. The special rate is only available if you phone the hotel: 1-503-540-7800 or toll-free 1-877-540-7800. Ask for the reservations department and inform them you are with the "South Salem High Reunion 1969." The discounted room rate includes breakfast, WiFi and parking.

LET THE SUNSHINE IN

Remember that sunshine/Aquarius song by the 5th Dimension? There's so much more to remember from our cool Saxon era. So we'll have a bitchin' memorabilia table at the Saturday reunion. If you have yearbooks, album covers, photos or other treasures to share from your high school years, please bring them along.

GRATEFUL FOR...

Please give a hand to our reunion organizing team! Colin (Kim) Seymour for communication, guidance and coordination; Sherry Brennen for organizing the Happy Hour; Bob Jones for suggesting the memorabilia table; Jody (Miller) Kishpaugh for spearheading the reunion idea, setting up the reunion Facebook page, communication and general guidance; Jeannie (Baecher) Brown for creating a list of Salem eateries; general guidance and research from Barb (Price) Brenner, Robin (Bennett) Chinburg, Trish (Pat Wright) Rolin for organizing the high school campus tour, Jim Stuller, Becky (Schick) Tooley; Cora Gangware for the web site; and others who chimed in as we pulled things together.
